The Boeing B-29 Superfortress was among the largest aircraft of World War II. It saw limited service during that war being introduced in mid-1944. It was however the primary heavy bomber in the Pacific from its introduction until the end of the war after two B-29s dropped the first atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The B-29 continued to see combat after World War II still being the primary heavy bomber during the Korean War.
